Tooling

After a cast is created, the tooling process begins, taking approximately 3-4 weeks to complete the alloy mold. Once the mold is finished, the factory conducts mold testing, producing plastic samples. This testing phase may require fine-tuning the mold.

During the test run, the factory measures the molding time per decoy and weighs each decoy to ensure it meets the client's specified weight requirements.

Following this, the molded samples are painted according to the customer's specifications, and the samples are sent out for approval and sign-off.

Upon the customer's approval of the color and paint scheme, these painted samples become the paint masters for future production.

Things We Pay Special Attention To

Experience and awareness of potential pitfalls are crucial in tooling and mold-making. These factors determine the daily production capacity of the factory and contribute to the extended life of the tools.

  • Efficiency in cooling the tool for each run.
  • Pay close attention to the seams, ensuring they are nearly invisible.
  • The connection between the body and head of two plastic pieces, if a decoy body and head are molded separately.

After some successful test runs, we will determine if a mold is ready or needs adjustments. If adjustments or modifications are required, additional testing cycles will be performed each time.
